The whiskered prowfish (Neopataecus waterhousii) is a species of marine ray-finned fish, an Australian prowfish belonging to the subfamily Pataecinae. It is endemic to the coastal waters of southern Australia. This species is the only member of the monotypic genus Neopataecus.
