A flightless nocturnal bird endemic to New Zealand, with hair-like feathers and nostrils near the tip of its bill.

Overview

Kiwi forage on the forest floor for invertebrates and other food, using smell and touch more than most birds. They lay unusually large eggs relative to adult body size.
